Description for B&B:
Queens Escape, located in Martel, France, is a charming bed & breakfast and wedding venue. Nestled within the historic Château de La Tuilerie, a magnificent castle built in 1820 by a former mayor of Martel, this enchanting establishment offers a unique and memorable experience. The name, Queens Escape, pays homage to the Belgian Queen and royal family, who sought refuge here for four years during the tumultuous period of World War II. While the king resided in a different château, Queens Escape served as a tranquil sanctuary for the queen and her family. Today, it continues to provide a serene haven away from the hustle and bustle of modern life, allowing guests to immerse themselves in a bygone era.Throughout the castle, the regal theme is carried elegantly, with each guest room named after a renowned queen. From Margrethe, the Queen of Denmark, to Eleanor of Aquitaine, an influential queen of both France and England, the rooms exude a sense of grandeur and history. The majestic Catherine the Great, the illuminating northern light of Russia, and Cleopatra, the captivating Queen of the Nile, further enhance the regal ambiance. Additionally, the esteemed Himiko, the former ruler of Wa (now known as Japan), adds a touch of exotic allure. Excitingly, the Queen Elizabeth II bridal suite will soon be available, promising an unforgettable stay.
For those seeking a retreat into the past, Queens Escape offers a remarkable opportunity to step back in time. The expansive grounds surrounding the castle provide ample space to breathe and unwind, allowing guests to fully embrace the tranquility of their surroundings.
