Situated in Jonquières, just 6 miles away from the Orange antique theater and a mere 20-minute drive from Avignon, the Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat is a charming old stone farmhouse that embodies the quintessential Provençal style. Dating back to the 17th century, this bed and breakfast has undergone careful renovation to maintain its rustic charm while providing modern comforts in all of its accommodations. With breathtaking views of Mount Ventoux and comfortable self-catering options, this location offers a wide range of tourism and visits in the beautiful region of Provence. Guests can explore the stunning landscapes and lavender fields in the nearby Luberon area, as well as enjoy proximity to Avignon and Chateauneuf du Pape. For wine enthusiasts, there is the opportunity to tour the wine route and indulge in unforgettable wine tastings of Cotes du Rhone wines. Access to Avignon is convenient, as the very fast TGV train can transport visitors from Paris in just 2 hours and 40 minutes, or from CDG airport in 3 hours. The Mas is surrounded by Cotes du Rhone vineyards, ensuring a peaceful and secluded atmosphere. The owners, Charles and Andrée Barail, are fluent in English and reside in the main house. Additionally, there are two self-contained studio apartments and two larger two-bedroom apartments available for guests, each equipped with private WC, shower, and kitchen facilities. Please be aware that for the privacy of our guests, we have intentionally chosen not to have any signs indicating the Mas at the entrance of our driveway.
If you are approaching from the A7 motorway, take exit Orange Sud (#22) and follow the signs for Avignon. From there, make a left turn onto the D950 road towards Vaison-la-Romaine & Carpentras. Disregard the first sign for Jonquières and continue on the D950. Upon reaching a roundabout, follow the sign for Jonquières. Before entering the village, take a right turn into the driveway of the Mas, named "Chemin de l'Escarrat". This turn is right after passing the Sotalis company, approximately 1 kilometer after the roundabout.
If you are coming from Orange, drive through the village of Jonquières towards Carpentras on Avenue de la Libération. Just before leaving the village, turn left into a driveway that is bordered by the walls of the Sotalis company. At the entrance of the road, you will notice a "dead end road sign". The Mas is located approximately 400 meters along this driveway.
