Appréciations pour Domaine De La Mésange, Le Mesnil Durand:
Review of La Mesange
Dear Didier and Roselyne
We only spent two nights at La Mesange during our short break in Normandy, but we had a very good time and can highly recommend your chambre d'hote.
We (myself, my daughter aged 19 and my son aged 10) stayed in the "mountain" room. I took the double bed and they had the two singles. They were a little cramped, but had their own roon and slept well. The rooms were well furnished, cosy and attractive.
The property looks very pretty with its timber framing, white walls, and blue shutters, and is very romantically situated in a clearing in a small forest, especially at night or after a shower.
La Mesange is on the top of a ridge in the Pays D'Auge, and one morning we did a beautiful VTT circuit from the property itself, down to the village of Le Mesnil Durand, and back up. Very muddy, but beautiful spring flowers, and wonderful views down to the valley and across to the next range of hills.
Didier was a most obliging host, helping us with restaurant booking, lending us mountain bikes, and even giving us some basic golf tuition!
The breakfast revoves around bread and toast and the "confitures de maison", which are very good, as is the coffee. Arthur is a lively and friendly presence, although you will have to resist his charms as he tries to persuade you to part with some of your breakfast.
I think this place is particularly good if you like the sort of scenery I have described, if you like a romantic hideaway, and if you can make use of the sporting facilities.

Hôtes accueillants, aimables et attentionnés. Literie et sanitaire de la chambre impeccables.
wonderful week
Dear Roselyne and Didier,
I wanted to thank you for the wonderful week we had at La Mésange in June 2008. We looked for a place conveniently located near Lisieux, with easy access to many Normandy attractions like Mont Saint Michel, Honfleur, Deauville, Caen, Rouen, and more. La Mésange was not only convenient, but relaxing, comfortable, charming. The house and rooms are very well maintained: nicely decorated, clean, comfortable. The hospitality was exceptional. The home made breads and jams were so delicious, you always made sure we had everything we needed, even bicycles for the family. All recommendations and information you offered for sites of interest, best restaurants in the area, famous Normandy Calvados and Cheese production, and markets were all on point. It was an unforgettable vacation we had in La Mésange. We know that next time we visit in Normandy, we will return to stay again at your La Mésange, and we highly recommend this place to all vacationers looking for a charming, relaxing, comfortable, and convenient vacation home.
