Description for B&B:
The Kerbeleg B&B is conveniently situated just a short 10-minute drive from the picturesque city of painters, Pont-Aven, and a mere 15 minutes away from the stunning beaches. Nestled in a tranquil location, this remarkable 15th century stone house is surrounded by a sprawling 2-hectare park.Originally built upon the foundations of a castle from the 15th century, this historic establishment has undergone a series of expansions and renovations, transforming it from a manor house to a farm, and now into a charming B&B. Delight in the rich history of the place as your hostess, a true history aficionado, quenches your thirst for knowledge. A comprehensive book, documenting recent research on the site's past through Breton history, is available for your perusal in each room.
Two spacious and comfortable bedrooms have been tastefully renovated to preserve the house's original charm from when it was in the family six decades ago. Each bedroom offers a picturesque view of the park, bathed in the southern sun.
The owner, with the assistance of skilled local craftsmen, has meticulously redesigned Kerbeleg into a bed and breakfast. The farmhouse will captivate you with its choice of materials and reinvented layouts. The heart of the farmhouse is the cathedral lounge, complete with a grand fireplace, offering an ideal setting for relaxation and reading. Adjoining the lounge is the billiard room, a generously-sized living space adorned with stone floors and exposed beams.
Ascending the imposing stone staircase from the billiard room, you will find the two comfortable bedrooms on the landing. Each bedroom boasts its own shower room, while the separate WC is conveniently located on the landing.
The BIRDS room, featuring a large original granite fireplace, also includes a small bedroom accommodating two children. Les OURS offers a magnificent view of the park, while La Maison à PAIN, formerly the estate's bread oven, will soon be transformed into a charming room for a couple, complete with a mezzanine suitable for one or two additional children.
Adjacent to the living room, behind the second majestic fireplace, is the kitchen, inviting you to indulge in gourmet delights. Modernized and centered around a large solid wood monastery table, this kitchen is the perfect spot for breakfast.
For leisurely pursuits, the other side of the living room features a recreational space and library, complete with a table football and card table. On days when the sun is not shining or after a day of hiking, you can unwind in the tranquility of this space.
When the weather permits, meals are served on the terrace overlooking the park. The early risers may even catch a glimpse of deer at dawn, as well as pheasants and other wildlife.
Situated less than 10 minutes from the motorway, Kerbeleg offers easy access to the peaceful and picturesque countryside. Moreover, it serves as an ideal base to explore the region's cultural and tourist attractions, including Lorient (known for its sailing), Quimper, Concarneau and its charming old town, the numerous quaint harbors, the beautiful abers of South Finistère, and the captivating granite sites. Kerbeleg will serve as the central hub for a multitude of activities during your stay.
