Description for B&B:
The village of Morey is situated in the town of BELLEAU, perched 305 meters above sea level on the side of the Natagne valley, which crosses from the east to the west side of the Moselle rating in the Massif of the great Romanesque couronné. The village is home to a population of around a hundred villagers, affectionately known as the wolves. The XII century St. Peter's Church stands proudly in the village, while Morey Castle, built on the ruins of a Templar monastery, dates back to the same era. After the lords disappeared in the fourteenth century, Morey came under the ownership of JEHAN TOULON Nomeny, who held the fortified house until the seventeenth century. Later, it was owned by Brassel JOLY and then George DUCROCQ, a renowned writer. Unfortunately, the castle was destroyed by fire and abandoned in 1985, leaving only four walls standing. However, with great determination, we have managed to transform the ruins into a charming guesthouse, offering five comfortable rooms in a beautiful natural setting. The guesthouse is surrounded by a large garden, protected by a wall over 5 meters high. The garden boasts a variety of trees, including chestnut, cedar of Lebanon, lime, copper beeches, oaks, and maple, as well as a peaceful duck pond.Reviews
