Description for B&B:
Le Gaudin is a charming 18th-century farmhouse that has been beautifully transformed into a luxurious 5 bedroom bed and breakfast. Nestled in the picturesque heritage area of Suisse Normande, the house is situated on the grounds of a former Abbey, surrounded by tranquil woodlands. This idyllic location was once frequented by pilgrims on their way to Mont-St-Michel, who would fill their bottles from the stream in the wooded grounds. Le Gaudin truly holds a special place in history. While preserving the original character of the farmhouse, we have carefully renovated and enhanced the house to cater to the discerning modern traveler. Every aspect of the house reflects the creativity and charm of the region, from the exposed stone walls to the expansive fireplace and the inviting long table where guests gather for our delightful and sociable dinners.
Set on a 4-acre site, Le Gaudin boasts lush lawns and its very own lake. The serene surroundings of woodlands create a peaceful ambiance where the melodies of birdsong fill the air, and in autumn, one can hear the gentle thud of horse chestnuts falling. Furthermore, the absence of light pollution allows for breathtaking stargazing experiences.
Each of our bedrooms at Le Gaudin is effectively a suite, offering generous space, en-suite bathrooms, and stunning views. Every room has its own unique style and details that not only provide comfort but also evoke the local way of life.
Whether you desire a cozy evening by the crackling log fire with a glass of Calvados, a moment of relaxation with a book on our comfortable sofas, or a delightful dining experience at our grand table surrounded by great company, Le Gaudin will exceed your expectations. Additionally, there are WWII artifacts, picture books, and other intriguing discoveries to be made here, making it tempting to stay awake and explore.
At Le Gaudin, we believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and we take this fact seriously. Each morning, guests can indulge in a wide array of options, including fresh breads, pastries, cereals, meats, cheese, yogurts, and a selection of juices, teas, and coffees.
