Description for B&B:
The Domaine de Blacons is a charming family house that combines simplicity and elegance, creating a timeless atmosphere. With a deep-rooted connection to the property that has been passed down through generations, we are dedicated to preserving its rich history. Our love for this breathtaking region of the Drome Valley has inspired us to continue the legacy started by our parents nearly four decades ago.Nestled in the heart of the Drome Valley, between the majestic Vercors and Provence, this 17th century home showcases the traditional architecture of the area. Perched on sloping terrain, the property consists of two main buildings. We warmly welcome our guests year-round, providing a comfortable and elegant haven in a natural setting. The three-hectare gardens surrounding the estate create a tranquil atmosphere, with the soothing sound of crickets filling the air. To ensure our commitment to the environment, the renovations carried out from 2010 to 2013 incorporated ecological materials. Our utmost priority is to cater to the desires of our guests, offering a truly special experience in this remarkable region.
The Domaine de Blacons is not only a place to relax and rejuvenate, but also serves as an ideal starting point for exploring the natural wonders of the Drome. This magnificent area offers endless opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, with a wide range of water sports along the River Drome and in the Roanne valley. Paragliding, horse riding, mountain biking, and nature trails are just a few of the exhilarating activities available. The nearby sloping forest of Saou is a haven for walkers and climbers alike. Mirabel-et-Blacons, the village where the estate is located, serves as an entry point to the Regional Natural Park of the Vercors and the Valley of Gervanne. Here, you will encounter refreshing waterfalls, stunning cliffs, and lush green landscapes. The region's exceptional biodiversity is a result of its favorable climate and sustainable agricultural practices. As the first department in France to be designated Bio, the Drome boasts remarkable markets where you can discover and savor exquisite local produce. For history enthusiasts, a visit to the medieval tower of Crest, recognized by Michelin, and the charming mountain villages, home to talented artists and artisans, is a must.
