Riad Dades, a stunning kasbah located in the heart of Dades Valley, offers rooms that showcase the breathtaking views of the valley through their windows. The construction of this kasbah incorporates traditional methods such as adobes, which are bricks made of mud and straw dried by the sun. These adobes are used to create thin walls, pillars, arches, and decorative elements. Another traditional construction system used is pisé, or rammed soil, where damp earth is compacted in a wooden formwork to create solid walls. The walls and roofs of Riad Dades are coated with a mixture of mud and straw, which requires renewal every 6 years inside and every 2 years on the terraces. The ceilings of the riad are made of reeds on wooden beams, and geometric designs can be created using bamboo stems. The entire ceiling is covered with a layer of soil measuring approximately 25 centimeters. To reach the riad in Ait Ibrirne village, follow these directions:
- If you are coming from Tinghir, pass the town of Boumalen Dades and cross the Oued Dades bridge.
- At the roundabout just before Boumalne Dadès, take the secondary road N704 (Boumalne Dadès to Msemrir). The riad is located 9 km from this roundabout. The GPS coordinates are 31.436579°N, -6.010036°E.
If you are using public transport, the Boumalene Dades bus station is only 9 km away from Ait Ibrirne village. If you provide us with your arrival time, we can arrange to pick you up from the bus station. In the bus station, there are two types of taxis available: mini-buses with 15 seats, usually Mercedes Benz 207 or 307, and grand taxis, mostly Romanian car DACIA Lodgy, which can accommodate six passengers plus a driver. The cost of the trip is 5 dhs per person. Simply inform the taxi driver that you are going to Riad Dades, and they will assist you in reaching us.
If you are arriving at Ouarzazate airport, it is located 130 km away from Riad Dades. It will take approximately 2 hours by private car or taxi, and the cost of a taxi is 3 € per person. Many buses depart from Ouarzazate to Boumalene Dades, and we can arrange to pick you up from Boumalene Dades bus station. Please inform us of your arrival time.
