La Souqueto, named after the vines that provide shade to the front and back of the house, is a beautifully restored and renovated Maison Bourgeoise. Its interior is a tasteful blend of old and new furnishings and decorations. Situated on the outskirts of the village, guests can enjoy the soothing sounds and picturesque views of the nearby river, while also being right in the heart of the old medieval center.

The atmosphere at La Souqueto is warm and welcoming, offering a wealth of experiences to indulge the body, mind, and senses. Breakfast includes a delightful array of freshly brewed coffee, tea, croissants, breads, preserves, and fresh fruit. Additionally, seasonal treats such as tarts, layered yogurt and fruit cups, or cakes are often included. The house is adorned with intriguing decor and artifacts, and guests can find inspiration in the libraries and bright, spacious artist studio. For moments of relaxation, there is a roof terrace and a small patio. The charming rooms are equipped with toiletries, hairdryers, and plush towels. If there is anything else you may require, simply let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Upon request, evening meals are available, or guests can choose from two nearby restaurants, one of which is located adjacent to the house, and the other beside the river. The village itself offers various activities such as swimming, petanque, tennis, fishing, and horse riding.

Our village offers a range of activities to keep both children and adults entertained. Enjoy a game of tennis or petanque, try your hand at fishing, or go horse riding. Being located beside the picturesque Canal du Midi, you can explore the area on foot, by bike, or even by boat. Bicycles and boats are available for hire locally. For nature enthusiasts, nearby gorges offer both gentle and challenging hiking trails.

In addition to our serene surroundings, we are conveniently located for exploring historical Cathar strongholds, medieval towns, and vibrant cities. Narbonne and Beziers are just a 20-minute drive away, while Montpellier, Perpignan, and Carcassonne can be reached within an hour by car.

We are located in the heart of Mirepeisset, between the charming restaurant La Taverna and the local grocery shop. A convenient car park is available on the right-hand side of the restaurant.

Directions

If you are traveling from Perpignan on the A9, take exit 38 (Narbonne Sud) and head towards Beziers on the N9. At the third roundabout, make a left onto the D607 towards Marcorignan. Continue straight for approximately 12 kilometers and then turn right towards Mirepeisset. In the center of the village, you will find a restaurant called La Taverna with a carpark on the right side. We are located in the little alley directly across from the carpark entrance.

If you are coming from Montpellier on the A9, take exit 36 (Castres, Mazamet) and turn right towards Castres, Mazamet, and St. Pons. Continue until you reach the turn-off for MONTADY (the fourth turn-off). At the T-junction, turn left and follow the road straight for 23 kilometers. Afterward, turn left almost immediately after Argeliers towards Mirepeisset. Follow the signpost and turn right into Mirepeisset. In the center of the village, you will find a restaurant called La Taverna with a carpark on the right side. We are located in the little alley directly across from the carpark entrance.

If you are coming from Carcassonne, it is recommended not to take the Autoroute. The D610 (the direct road from Carcassonne to Beziers, which later becomes the D11) is the easiest route. To access this road, first follow the green sign for Narbonne and then look out for the sign for Trebes on the left, which will lead you to the D610. Continue straight towards Beziers on this route. After Pouzols, take a right at the large roundabout towards St Marcel, and then left at the next signpost for Mirepeisset. In the center of the village, you will find a restaurant called La Taverna with a carpark on the right side. We are located in the little alley directly across from the carpark entrance.
