Description for Gite

Located just 10 minutes from AUBENAS, the MAS Bourlenc is the perfect destination for a relaxing getaway with family or friends. Surrounded by nature, you can enjoy the peacefulness interrupted only by the delightful sounds of birds and cicadas during the summer. The property offers breathtaking views from various locations, ensuring privacy and tranquility.

Set amidst a diverse range of trees including olives, eucalyptus, fig, mimosa, oaks, and pines, the old barn has been beautifully restored and expanded by Thierry into a stunning 230 m2 stone farmhouse. The use of noble materials such as stone, wood, and lime, as well as Provencal ceilings, adds to its charm.

The farmhouse consists of two adjoining wings. One wing is dedicated to daytime activities, while the other is designed for a peaceful night's rest. Each wing has independent access but also provides communication between the two wings, allowing guests to have their own space without disturbing others.

Entering the left wing (daytime area), a small staircase leads to a large shaded terrace with a charming arbor, perfect for dining. This is followed by a second open terrace that offers a panoramic view of the surrounding nature. The large semi-professional kitchen with Provencal ceilings is fully equipped to cater to your culinary needs, including a Lacanche piano with a 5-burner gas stove and oven, granite countertops, multiple closets, two sinks, two refrigerators with freezers, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a dryer, and other semi-pro kitchen equipment. Adjacent to the kitchen is a cozy TV lounge that opens onto the terrace, as well as a toilet. Continuing from the kitchen, there is a spacious dining room with a piano for musical evenings, a fireplace, a library corner, comfortable sofas, and a large ash table.

The right wing is dedicated to the five bedrooms, each with its own terrace equipped with tables and chairs for peaceful reading and enjoyment of the view. The first bedroom features a 140 bed, wardrobe, table, chair, open shower room, and closed toilet. The second bedroom offers a 160 bed, dresser, table, chair, closet, and an adjoining bathroom with a round sandstone shower and toilet. This room also has a communication door to the kitchen. The third bedroom includes a 160 bed, dresser, chair, table, wardrobe, and a closed bathroom with a closed toilet. The fourth bedroom features a 160 bed on the ground floor and a mezzanine with a 140 bed and two 90 beds. It also has an enclosed bathroom and toilet, as well as an armoire, dresser, wardrobe, and table with chairs. The fifth bedroom is a duplex room with a 140 bed on the ground floor and a 180 bed and a 90 bed on the upper floor. It has a closed shower room and toilet. All rooms are equipped with window screens (except the second bedroom), individual kettles, and hair dryers. Fans are also available. The windows and doors have wooden shutters and the walls are made of stone.

For a refreshing dip, guests can enjoy the saltwater swimming pool measuring 9.5 x 4.5 meters, which includes two jacuzzi jets by the stairs. From the pool's beach with sun loungers, you can admire the olive trees on the property and the view of the Cevennes. The pool area also has a shelter with a fridge, table, and chairs. Additionally, there is a ping pong table, board games, and books available for entertainment. Depending on the season, guests may even have the opportunity to witness honey extraction in the honey house located below the terrace. Open parking is available at the bottom of the property.

The farmhouse serves as a great starting point for various hiking and biking trails, with documentation available on-site. Upon request, a certified masseuse can visit the farmhouse for a relaxing massage. The MAS Bourlenc is conveniently located just 12 minutes from Aubenas, 15 minutes from Vals-les-Bains, and 10 minutes from the villages of Jean Ferrat and Antraigues-sur-Volane. Coin de paradis
Review by: Stéphanie givolde , Sep 14 2015 10:00AM
