Description for B&B:
Welcome to Rochefort en Terre, a village that seems to have stood still for nearly six centuries. Established in 1498 by Jean Rochefort sire Rieux, it is a place where you can experience the atmosphere of the past. The village is filled with cobbled streets, timbered houses, houses made of granite, and the iconic La Tour du Lion.Step into our house, which dates back to the mid-16th century. Its first owner was likely a steward, administrator, or a member of the nobility such as a lawyer, clerk, or seneschal. As you enter, you will be transported back in time to 500 years ago.
This charming house offers five bedrooms, each with its unique character. The Napoleon Room, decorated in an "Empire" style, is adorned with woodwork, gilding, and curtains, perfect for those who admire the old guard and eagles of the Emperor. The Marie Antoinette Room, with its stone walls, ceiling beams, and romantic "toiles de Jouy" ambiance, provides a beautiful and intimate setting. The François I Room features a scalloped headboard, a yellow parchment signed by the King, and a century-old parquet floor in the tower, reminding you of the French king who once slept in Rochefort. The Moulin Rouge Room captures the magic of Paris with its drawings, tables, and vibrant colors, while offering a view of the terrace and garden. Lastly, the Anne of Brittany Room, with its four-poster bed, fireplace, Aubusson tapestry, and ermine motifs, pays homage to the Duchess of Brittany, who became queen of France twice.
Regardless of the room you choose, we guarantee an unforgettable experience. Each room comes with its own bathroom, ensuring your comfort and privacy. Take a moment to soak in the breathtaking views of the sandstone and slate in the nearby hamlet from our patio and garden.
Come and stay with us, and allow us to share with you a timeless moment in Rochefort en Terre. The price for the Napoleon Room is 130 EURO, and each room offers its unique charm and history.
