Description:

Description for B&B:

Situated at an elevation of 800m (over 2788 feet) in the Haute Loire region, the chateau is located at the heart of a vast granite plateau and on the southern periphery of the National Livradois Forest Park. The climate here is typically characteristic of a low mountain plateau, offering a surprising diversity of landscapes including upland pastures, forests, and rocky gorges.

This location serves as an ideal base for exploring the nearby towns of Craponne sur Arzon, just a 10-minute drive away, La Chaise Dieu at a distance of 25 minutes, and the world heritage site of Le Puy en Velay. Le Puy en Velay holds historical significance as the center of the Haute Loire region and serves as a starting point for the renowned St Jacques de Compostelle pilgrimage route.

To reach St Andre de Chalencon from St Etienne, follow the signs towards Le Puy en Velay. Take the exit onto the road marked Bas en Basset and continue until you are almost at Retournac. After passing the village of Jussac, you will see a right turn marked Craponne. Take this turn and drive for approximately 5 minutes. After the hamlet called La Baraque, you will reach a crossroads. Turn right at this crossroads to reach St Andre de Chalencon.
