Description for B&B:
St. John Commandery of Artin is a unique guest house that offers a true immersion into courtly living, with its charming combination of court, cellars, and garden.Originally a hospital under the order of St. John of Jerusalem, this historic Commandery has been transformed into a farm after the Revolution. The barn, stables, bread oven dug in the rock, and other original features still remain, adding to the authenticity and character of the place.
Our four guest rooms, named Aunis, Gamay, Jasnières, and Vouvray, pay homage to the exquisite vineyards that surround us. Additionally, we have a family room called Jasnières, perfect for accommodating up to 5 people. This room is located in the old granary of the main farm building, boasting exposed beams and polished plaster that exude a simple yet contemporary charm. For those who love indulging in a leisurely morning meal, we also offer a delightful Sunday brunch, but make sure to reserve in advance.
Upon reservation, we extend an invitation to our guests to join us for the "meal of the Commandery". This is a special occasion where we create a friendly atmosphere, introducing you to the wonderful tastes and flavors of our regional producers. Our passionate householder, who has a deep knowledge of food and wine, delights in preparing delicious alternatives for our guests. Come and discover the culinary wonders that await you!
To enhance your stay, we also organize various activities for our guests, including tasting courses, workshops, and sensory games suitable for all ages. These activities not only provide a fun and enjoyable experience for families and friends, but also help to develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of taste. Among these activities is an introduction to wine tasting, where you can expand your knowledge of wine through practical and sensory tests, while enjoying a delightful time with your loved ones.
